Mitzvah Madness Kicks Off With Success!
Sunday, February 26th, NowGen Nashville, Jmingle, and Hillel stepped up to the plate, and hit a home run! Over 50 volunteers spanning a total of over 160 volunteer hours came out on Sunday to help make a difference at three different sights. The Jewish cemetery was scrubbed, raked, and weeded, while the Akiva Jewish Day School got it’s own beauty treatment. Twenty tie blankets were donated to Vanderbilt’s Children Hospital, and the night finished atop Paradise Park, at Aerial Nashville, showcasing the beautiful Nashville skyline, and the charming sounds of Chasing Lovely. Over all the day was a huge success.

BUT we’re not done yet! This Monday, and the 12th, and 19th, we will be serving up meals for Room In The Inn, as well as the blood drive on the 19th, hosted by AEPi, and our continued canned food drive. In addition to that, families are still encouraged to participate in the lemon-aid project.
As you can see, there is a whole lot still to do this month, and we’re always looking for your help! You can register at nowgennashville.org/mitzvahmadness to get in on the action!
Of course, HUGE THANK YOUS go out to everyone who volunteered this weekend, and to the amazing Project Managers who are making this all possible. Matt Strauss, Felicia Levine, Lawrence Tobin, Freya Saks, Vlada Melekhin, and Tiz Goff. Also need to give a shout out to The Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle TN, SOVA catering, Vanderbilt Hillel, Strategic Hospitality, Russell Wolff, and all the synagogues for being so helpful! Clearly, this is no small project.
If you enjoy community service, and want to become more involved, we will be creating the NowGen Nashville Social Action Committee soon, or you can be a part of the project specific Mitzvah Madness team. Contact joel@jewishnashville.org for more details!
Till next time…
